Well for guys who truly dont follow cricket..here's the analogy...Afridi's bat talked just 4 times by which time 5 harry potter movies made it to the theatres and 1 is up for release now...thats how rare it talks...but still he has got more fans than many of his contemporaries...may be because he was almost the first guy to have started this famous boom boom hitting...that has changed cricket's outlook once and for all....."270 in ODI's is a losing target on most of the occasions these days..."..Thanks to the boom boom club....afridi..sehwag...gilly...etc...Ofcourse the latter and former even share another club...Deccan chargers...mann..thats another fairy tale of success...

Among my friends at school...none of us had the same favourite player from any sports or teams....If i rooted for beckham...niki got a triangular hair cut of ronaldo...If i cheered Raikkonen(this was around 2001..)...siddharth loved schumi....If i loved Justine...some other guy hated her at sight...No one's taste matched....but when it all came down to cricket....Shahid was the only choice...and even among gals..(for obvious reasons they say...I still dont get what they mean...)...When any of us would walk out to bat among our famed bet matches(10 Rs bets..)...we would jus shout.."Go...Do an Afridi"...that was the impact he had on many young kids...and now he is doing it again...

And in the final...when pakistan were 1 wicket down...I would have happily sent Misbah to bat...(even after he choked at the death 2 years back...remember 1st T20 world cup??...)...Ya... because given Afridi's batting form for the past 2 years no one would trust him with bat even after he sealed the semifinal match for them...Many say he is in the team only on his reputation...But the captain's gamble paid off.....Or may be it wasn't a gamble at all in the first place...May be he fits at No.3 better than elsewhere...( Jus like the golden era when he used to open with Anwar..)...Only time must tell....with this 29 yr old...I still don't believe his age.....Am only sure it would be between 29 and 35...And no further comments...

The last week might have been the most shocking week of my life....yes guys....see...when you realise u cant do 2 normal things that everyone around you seems to be enjoying doing...it really comes as a shock...And dont be too surprised...am still a man enough...what am talking about is Drinking and smoking*....Yesterday everything was going great at my school friend's party...we were back to galli cricket after a long time....i was hitting sixes...our team was winning matches...the whether was great...it...it was perfect...it was like free porn...we couldn't get enough no matter how much we played..!..And then after tat all of 'em started boozing...and inspite of my repeated evasive tries...1 guy still managed to find a peg for me...i couldn't resist anymore...but...whoaaa...i almost spit after sipping like...the first 2 ml of the drink......its like my palate wasn't allowing the drink....It was so hard to gulp it down...It might well have been the hardest thing i would have ever done...except ofcourse giving up drinking in d first place!!!!!...So the 2 things tat i found most hard to do till now??...u guessed it....giving up Mr.B and taking back Mr.B....MINE'S A WASTED LIFE...ofcourse i dint do the latter...


And the other shock came just 4 days back.....Smoking is not fr me...i coughed like a zillion times to finish one small ciggy...Oh god...how can u do this to me...smoking is out too!!!!....I know many out there might think..."this is a crazy bastard...y does he want cancer??.."...Thank u guys fr doing the honours...but..Leave all d cancer hype aside...lets face it...Smoking is cool...and you know it...tats the bottom line....But its too late fr me though...i fucking dont know why i cant stop coughing when i smoke...may be its the signs..you know...may be I am destined to do more great things in life...oh..fuck it..who am i kidding...its always more cool wen u have something on fire at one end and u put the other end of it in your mouth...tats a Guinness dare act right there...

Finally the ghosts have died...the exorcism worked...ya..am talking about federer's taste at the french curry...The guy did it finally...If you had seen all the previous 3 finals and this 2009 final, there was only 1 similarity...federer crying at the end of the match...but in completely different contexts on both the occasions...and the main difference(of many) was nadal's absence in the final...Some guy once said during a Wimbledon final..."In this open era...u are either a clay court specialist..or a grass court's or a hard court's or.....u are Federer..".....And it really came true on june 7th 2009...After last year's final performance in which Fed went down in 3 straight sets to Nadal and dint even break the Spaniard's serve once...many of us wrote off the Swiss..saying it was be his last chance on the red surface...but look wat he did...And even now some are not giving full credit to the guy...and the excuse..???...Nadal bunked the final so Fed came in class first.....But guys...come on...the guy had been trying for 4 years...has anyone else reached 4 consecutive finals here..(except Nadal ofcourse...)..So he deserves dis one...Of course we can never know wat the script would have been if it had been Nad-Fed again this year...

And of all people who were watching the final on TV sets...am sure that the guy who had minimum blinks of his eye was Nadal...Given his sportsmanship, he would have been very happy at the result...And all this time we always have been pointing the finger at Fed and saying "oh...poor bastard..not again"...But nadal knows only too well...What his stature would have been..if only he was born either 5 years earlier or later to his birthday.....The guy was being pissed off consistently by Fed for the first 3 years of his career...He even once said.."if you take my statistics...I will be No.1 in all the eras except this Fedex era..."...Of course he was NO.2 for as long as anyone can remember.....But the clay moron always had his way at the Garros...

On a more personal note...Am a nadal fan and proud to be one...But the guy had to lose some day and it finally came...thanks to the Solder-man...whoever he is...And am pretty sure the bookies still wouldn't have put more odds with federer to win the final...because guys...there are 2 things that always stood between the Swiss and the French....."NADAL" and "the GHOST"...ya..nadal was out early but the ghosts in fed's mind would never leave him atleast for the rest of his career...And by ghosts i mean...the negative self conf...on the red surface particularly.....inflicted by the bull...But somehow he overcame the ghosts(to every one's surprise...)..and that too in a pretty quick time...it must be one of the shortest grand slam finals here...

Novels...fiction...non-fiction...Thrillers...drama...my life started revolving arnd these words a lot aftr i came to graduate school....i think i caught sum flue named the reader flu..i kept on reading all the crap that i could get my hands on....all the famous authors...all genre...so much that i even skipped dinner a couple of times during the cliff hangar climaxes of Dan brown's...At one point i even read HP for sum part...then realised wait a min..who am i kidding...nd threw it away...its only for kids...ofcourse if they had enough brains its nt even for them!!...

Reading so much crap helped me a lot...i could advice others on what books to read and what books to use as a plate for snacks...well i did that a Lot guys...So coming bac...the best author i think is Archer closely followed by Dan...then many others follow who are on the same level...it boils down to a book to book comparison between these losers...No one can generalise that Mr.siidyen* is better than Mr.cichhten*...And archer is on top for obvious reasons...for all those great works..K&A..Sons of For...etc etc..he even wrote sum best sellers wen he was serving his term (kids...well not everyone s perfect..sum go to jail too...)...And dan brown.....man..he rocks...he is a stand out in this era.....of course the church might kill me for givin so much credit to him...but i dont care....he rocks big big time...and the case is closed...Hey i will give a call to illuminati if you guys come looking for me.....

And in non-fiction...I read a handful of biographies of celebs...presidents...and some famous guys who somehow managed to get assassinated...Of all i liked Beckham's bio...Branson's...etc etc...Hey jus a list to follow now....

Whoaa...am really unsure of 2 things in dis world...one is how did slumdog win over MILK dis year at the oscars...and the other is why so many summer hols...the first one...I guess the Academy has its own reasons...and the more important one...mannn...life becomes a real bore in hols..even if u go on a tour de world and then hv lunch wid jolie, play poker wid clooney and dinner wid katrina...its still s a bore away frm college...And fr me its even gifting sum extra few pounds...And this "SUMMER" even the heat is soaring and is neva shy of 40 deg...
