What's the thing with this internet?..ha?...I mean don't you think its doing a bit more than necessary that at some point you start wondering, is it a Frankenstein?? only not to its own creator(where are you Tim??)... but to the people who are supposed to be benefiting from it. It may be a banal analogy but I think its very very appropriate to call it a double edged sword. Lemme explain and just BRIEFLY unlike some pointless blogs!!!
Am a 20 something guy now...and at this age you make very minute observations in ppl around you...You guys give me that right??..okay den...so while am living my life I come across all these kids...some relatives..some friends(whoever said teens cant befriend kids except in ghetto movies!!)...and some you know...just kids i meet..while commuting or whatever...I just happen to know a lot of them!...But the main point I am stressing on here is....Internet and the kids...I haven't seen any other love affair as good as this...On one hand Kids are amazed at all the things that this thing does..and on the other Internet feels...well it doesn't feel...its just a thing..not a soul....And its got the makings of great Loser stories wrt kids(Am assuming Internet has nothing to lose...which is TRUE)...
Now..people can still argue that Internet is the greatest invention..probably only next to wheel and ipods!...citing all reasons like..abundant info at your fingertips..on almost any topic...the shopping..buying..you know almost everything that you do in areal world can be done there....But believe me guys...Its not good for the kids...I have been seeing these kids...living virtual lives on orkut...facebook...and whats that stupid thing that even recently caught on with the Celebs...ya that Twitter...boy do I hate that...You see it all might look good on the surface in away...that you know...Networking is very good for anyone;s career!..you know for even these kids...who for all i know...don't even know whats the meaning of what networking is!!!...
And mainly what scares me is that thing which is always abundant on the net..that..that thing that starts with P nd ends with N..and has 4 letters....I bet you the kids am talking bout cant even crack that puzzle....but guess what..its all over the Internet..and its bound to leave that impression on those young minds....Its bad people..Its real bad...And sometimes I do wonder..may be this Internet is a whole cover up..just to make that P thing available freely(OPEN SOURCE!)...you know...Everyone talks about all the good stuff on the surface..Information age..wikipedia..google...shopping..ebay etc etc...but its almost same if they cut the crap down and jump to the point..."People...its there everywhere...finally its free :)"..
P.S:: I have nothing against Tim Lee except that I just really hate that guy and feel every kid should hate him too.
